DJ NordicTräk’s first experiences with electronic music include a My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult cassette discarded by his big brother and the Mortal Kombat movie theme. But after relocating in his 20s to Berlin, Germany – the electronic music capital of the world – Matthew Hansen was completely enveloped in a Sci-fi world in which electronic music became his utopia, and is art form. Unmoored from the present, and frequently venturing to the future, he remains overlord of the fjords, and is on a mission to bring more synthwave music to Berlin clubs.

DJ NordicTräk has collaborated with German electronic musician Fafnir Assbender (Cody Goodfellow) in the Berlin-based band ADULTLAND and released the single and video to “SYNTHESCHEISSE” in 2024 and will release a new single and video in Spring 2026.

DJ NordicTräk regularly travels to Portland, OR for DJ appearances and is a fixture of annual events like GOTHMAS, and the cyberpunk themed GEMINI PARTY, which he created. He sporadically appears on the radio stations Freeform Portland and KNSJ San Diego.
